Study finds more than half of U.S. startup companies valued at $1 billion or more started by immigrants.
The study from the National Foundation for American Policy indicated that almost two-thirds of U.S. billion-dollar companies were co-founded by immigrants and native-born Americans. Additionally, almost 80% of U.S. unicorn companies (privately-held, billion-dollar companies) have an immigrant founder or an immigrant in a key leadership role, such as CEO or vice president of engineering.
